Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

Duration: 6 Days / 5 Nights.
Maximum Elevation: 4720m.
Nature of the trek: Short Trek.
Best season: April, September-October.

Dagala Thousand Lake Trek starts above Thimphu and passes through several mesmerizing high altitude lakes. A legend say that there are actually 105 lakes or may be 108-a holy figure in our Buddhism in that particular area; some story even says that there were more than 1000 in the past.

Day 1: Geynikha (2950m) to Geynizampa (2800m).
           Distance: 2km, Time: 1 hour.

Day 2: Geynizampa (2800m) to Gur (3290m).
            Distance: 5 km, Time: 4 hours.

Day 3: Gur (3290m) to Labatamba (4280m).
            Distance: 10km, Time: 5 hours.

Day 4: Labatamba (4280m) to Panka (4000m).
            Distance: 4km, Time: 6-7 hours.

Day 5: Panka (4000m) to Talakha (3080m).
            Distance: 8km, Time: 5-6 hours.

Day 6: Talakha (3080m) to Chamgang (2640m).
            Distance: 6km, Time: 3 hours.
